In South Asia, countries are at different stages of developing comprehensive cybersecurity frameworks. Bangladesh's Digital Security Act and its successor, the Cyber Security Act, represent attempts to address cyber threats, though concerns have been raised about their impact on freedom of expression.

    Emerging Technologies and Future Challenges

    Artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, quantum computing, and blockchain technologies are creating new cybersecurity challenges and opportunities. The use of AI for both cyber defense and offense represents an arms race that will shape the future of digital security. Ensuring that these technologies are developed and deployed in ways that respect human rights and democratic values requires proactive governance frameworks, multi-stakeholder engagement, and sustained investment in digital literacy and capacity building.
